Latest off the painting conveyor is a squad of Arbites for a game in a few weeks time (they'll be standing off against some genestealer cultists):
No converting or fancy paint schemes - just something functional and eye-catching (not that unlike the Arbites themselves I guess!). I'm pretty pleased with how well the two eras of models work together - they look like different specialists perhaps.
Very well done. The new(er) ones do work surprisingly well with the old ones. I've been tempted to try to pick a few up to flesh out my own troop. (Of course I'm also tempted to repaint mine top down. Yours look much better than my own 90s versions.)
A current project is to make some stalls for a market on some Imperial backwater world. In progress is a Xenos Pet Trader - last night I painted up a selection of his stock:
There's a few issues with my latest painted figure - I did it too fast and he's not quite as well finished as the other Ash Waste Nomads, and I have a nagging feeling his sculpted right arm is too long...but all that aside, he's finished and more than capable of adding some heavy firepower to my Nomad gang!
The figure is relatively modern for me - a Vostroyan Imperial Guard sniper, Dark Vengeance chaos cultist plastic heavy stubber, and a hat from Warlord Games.
Excellent conversion. This entire gang is turning out really good
You might be right about the right arm. But if you hadn't said it yourself, no one would notice
Long arm of the lawless or no, he looks fantastic. The red ghillie suit cape is quite interesting. Does he live in a world of irradiated red plants? Splendid looking miniature.
