Rebuilding my cacti patch DONE

I got tired of basing my terrain on CDs. I think they ended up looking too regular on the table.

So I bought myself a lot of lasercut mdf bases for terrain purpose. I have accumulated loads of junk and various stuff which I want to build into terrain eventually and now I can start working on it all.

First thing I wanted to do though, was rebasing my Death World Cacti and expanding the patch too.

This is were I am at right now, but hopefully it will turn out good in a few days.

Where'd you get the bases? The only ones I've found that look good are from a company in Australia and I don't want to pay that kind of shipping!

Progress....

Bases painted. Spikes added to cacti and some of the older ones rebuild.

Coming up next: texture and paint on the cacti and then putting them onto the bases.

Great project! Those cacti were some of the first terrain I ever built.

I think that nothing says 40K 2nd edition like some good old Death World Cacti

And they will be usefull for any sci-fi setting or fantasy.

More progress:

Added texture with tile adhesive.

Painting.

Almost done.

I don't know if I should add some grass in patches or if they are good to go as they are. Let me know what you think?

Besides that I will need to smooth out the transistion between the cacti and the bases a bit and paint the silo thing.

True, but they might have to go there to retrieve some ancient artifacts.

Thanks.

I don't know what eggs these are. But some (un)lucky space pirates might find out at some point. I found them in a hobby store when I was looking for styrofoam balls and thought why not.
