While I've an in progress thread going for my wood elf project, there is some more painting going on on the side, so my intention with this thread is to show everything I manage to bring to completion in 2014. (With a very real possibility that some of those projects will have been started many years ago)(and yes there will be overlap with the wood elf WIP) The majority will be oldhammer stuff, but I won't guarantee you won't see the occasional modern model (or even something from outside warhammer altogether), so browse at your own risk... In any case you're all here for the photos, so enjoy:
First up is my test model for the regiment of Ruglud's armored orcs I've managed to pick up, I tried to create the feel that his armor had been pieced together from various abandoned suits of chaos armor (in keeping with the backstory). I'm not quite sure it worked. He's going to sit on the edge of the paint table and get watched for a bit to see if it grows on me.
Next a plastic chaos warrior standard. Not a big fan of these models- the way they assemble means you have to paint them prior to putting them together otherwise there are lots of visible areas that are very difficult to reach. (Also they're about the same size as my old ogres and really fill the 25mm base, making them a challenge to rank up) That said I'm reasonably please with the results, and think I've managed a bit of an oldhammer vibe as well. (If I've gotten the latin right the motto translates as "never wear underwear" - clearly a strong Slaneeshi influence)
And finally, despite being in my wood elf WIP, my finished MDC treeman (Bob Naismith sculpt)
