Thank you and symphonicpoet for your comments.

Agreed - I think the golds were the most successful part of the paint job.

Cyberslayer - as "proof of concept" I like what it suggests about the proposed style for second ed squat models. But the model itself is exceedingly undetailed. A bunch of blank flat surfaces. I do quite like the face though.

Soon!

And here's the cyberslayer:

There's an unfinished quality of this sculpt. The face is fairly detailed (I love the face). But there are too many smooth blank spaces on the model in my view. And best not look to closely at the club-like hand gripping the bolted.

Despite the flaws, I very much enjoyed painting this one. Makes me wish - even more - that squats had been meaningfully included in second edition.

This model will see action on the table under the squat army list in Inquisitor #15. The issue has rules for slayers/berserkers, though I'm more likely to use the model as part of a regular squad tooled up for close combat.

Thanks.

Here's the latest - looks like a Blood Bowl mini (I confess I'm not too familiar with those ranges).

But you can never have too many heavy weapon squats!

Thanks for the reference, Gallivantes.

. . . That's quite the handsome cheerleader on the bottom right.

That cyber slayer looks like he could've steppedout of an 80s-90s action movie, if they had filmed Squats back then. Which they apparently should have! Gotta like that cool over-the-top streak. Great stuff and good paintjobs!

Thank you both for your comments.

I'm working to expand my cyberslayers unit.

In that vein, I painted one of the Fantastic Miniatures limited edition berserkers. A Bob Olley sculpt. Loved painting this one.

That's a crazy looking little dude. Love what you've done with the tank on his belt. Feeding it right to his brain to keep him all happy, huh? Nice!

Thank you!

"All happy" . . . "Berserk and murderous" . . . Same thing to squat.

Yes - they each have one sleeved and one unsleeved arm. The struggle of plastic squat arms. Not a single one fit well here.

The model on the right was my first attempt at painting a non-Caucasian realistic skin tone.

I've now painted another of the unreleased second edition squat cyberslayers.

How many of those things have you got? Geeze! Nicely done! :)

All of 'em! The other unreleased cyberslayer is on deck, along with a pair of Fantastic Miniatures Olley-sculpted berserkers.

I decide a while back that I would rather slim my collection and get a few new nice pieces. On the theory that "I can never get around to painting everything I currently have, but there are other things I'd like to pick up."

So this has meant selling things. And buying unreleased squats. And roborgs. And a megabot. Etc.

Tangent: I saw you mention on another thread you were looking to trade for more squats. PM and let me know what you're looking for. I'm also in the U.S. so this is easier than it often is . . .

All three of the unreleased cyberslayers now painted.

Soon to be added to the mix - the Olley Berserkers assembled above.

I look forward to this expensive unit being shot up as it moves slowly toward the enemy.

Which is the big squat flaw. A high WS means you want hand to hand. But your move is so slow. And transports are death traps.
