I've had the idea for this PDF army on the go since RT came out in '87. I made a start on it in 1989 when I was at GW, but sold that iteration long ago. All this lead I bought long ago, they've been in the painting queue for about a decade or so, and I've finally got around to painting it up. I've still got a long way to go, but this is what I've managed to get done in the last week or so!
Group shot so far.
The General and his two bodyguards:
Civilian 'Advisors', one with Gyrinx:
Chu and Kel, renegade Psychic brothers:
Imperial Assassin:
Ratling Snipers:
Infantry Squad:
Veteran Infantry Squad:
Adeptus Mechanicus Engineer:
Squad of Servitors:
Robot Maniple:
Mole Mortar with Squat Crew:
Rapiers with crew:
Tarantulas with Crew:
Thudd guns with crew:
Squad of Sentinels:
Sentinel I
Sentinel II
Sentinel III
Sentinel IV
Sentinel V
VII Company (Support) Combat Engineer Platoon with their C.E.R (Combat Engineer Rhino):
And a couple of shots of the C.E.R in detail:
I Company 'A' Platoon 'Pathfinders', elite, veteran scouts:
And accompanying them is a specialist tracker, who uses an Argosian Nosehound to seek out snipers and other hidden enemy troops.
Commissar on jetbike to provide much needed encouragement on the battlefield:
'Suidae' Class Land Speeder Anti-Tank variant:
V Company (Cavalry), 'A' Platoon on Bullock jetbikes:
The more observant of you may have noticed they're not actually on horses, and there's a simple reason for that. It's because I absolutely detest those bloody awful plastic horses they originally came with, so I decided to mount them on Arcturan Mega-Camels. Ideal for fast travel across the barren wasteland deserts of the Jamakeer Outback.
Here's a couple more shots of them. I've not done the chest insignia yet or the standard, as I'm currently designing a set of custom decals to print off on decal paper and do all the insignia at once for the entire army.
And a couple of close ups:
And now, some bikes...
And finally, a shot of the painted army so far:
More background and model/conversion details in my blog in the sig. Thanks!
