Alternative High Elf Minis

Following the trend of several other posts/threads here in general discussions, I thought I'd fire one up on the topic of alternative high elf miniatures.

Below is my summary of the situation from last year... In short: I'm an advocate of the current LOTR minis. Perry-sculpted, appropriately-proportioned and scaled. They're worth considering:

I'm using LotR elves as archers and spearmen in my HE force, they're a bit small, but that's no problem since I'm also using Celtos Sidhe (a bit big) and Wargods Basti (cats!) ina crazy mix-up egyptian elf army!

@ Fimm McCool: I think that LOTR elf minis stack up pretty well scale-wise against 1980s citadel. Sure they are out of scale from 1995 onwards citadel, but we all know about scale-creep. For Oldhammer in particular then, LOTR elves would seem a perfect-fit scalewise.

1980s citadel scale = 2000 LOTR scale?

@ axiom and erny: Thanks for flagging those extra alternative minis up chaps. I'm somewhat of a split-mind in regards to these minis though. There's some inconsistent quality sculpting there to my eye, some is really good, some less so... Personal preference sure, but not too harsh an opinion I'd hope you agree.

Very much agreed on that! But certainly an option if you're selective :)
