Re: Alternate Hob-goblin and goblins

Some of my new favorite new Goblins are the ones being produced by Crooked Claw Goblins...its a smallish but growing range.

here is the link: http://crooked-claw.blogspot.com/2013/0 ... ashed.html

Here is the Catapult that they recently released and I couldn't resist.

Re: Alternate Hob-goblin and goblins

I'm sorry but there is only one true goblin range and they were sculpted for GW pre 1991. Everything else is heretical. Nuff said ;)

Hobgoblins on the other hand, mainly due to the variety of the ranges from the 80's are not such a touchy subject.

IMHO Hobgoblins are totally different from Goblins.

Re: Alternate Hob-goblin and goblins

There really are some great goblin figures out there. I am now fighting off the urge to leave all that I have on at the moment and start working on expanding my greenskin armies. Got ... to ... resist ...

Re: Alternate Hob-goblin and goblins

As alt Hobgobs, I like Bob Olley's Samurai Orcs found HERE .
They are definitely more 1st-3rd ed. flavor "robust" hobgobs, but great if you don't want the revisioned slaves to Chaos Dorfs.

Bad pic I stole from internet:

Finding decent calvary for hobgobs is the biggest problem. It's not that there are no models; just that there are no good models. Prove me wrong please! :D

Re: Alternate Hob-goblin and goblins

Some more alternate goblins, with a slight Kev Adams theme -

Harlequin Fantasy - http://www.blacktreedesign.com/europe/home.php?cat=2371

Mannequin - http://miniature-heroes.co.uk/index.php ... th=505_506

Heartbreaker - http://www.ralparthaeurope.co.uk/shop/h ... 5_117.html

Most of the orcs out there aren't really to my taste, with the possible exception of Mirliton -

I don't have anything useful to add but can I just say ... I love these threads.
Each time I am introduced to ... or reminded of some great minis I need to add to my list.

Re: Alternate Hob-goblin and goblins

Alternative armies still have a range of Bob Olley's sculpts for Fantasy Warlord that includes some nice 'eastern orcs' that are perfect as Hobgoblins, as well as some very nice Orges.
