Holy Grails - You're most sought miniature(s)?

For me it's a few of the McDeath characters. Back in 1987, as a schoolboy, I spend some weeks in Britain, and used the time to put an order with Citadel Miniatures. I still own the cardboard box on which they x-ed out Sir John Quicksure and Dart Earl of Harkness - each at the princely sum of 1.95. Ever since I have tried to get them complete, but I made it as far as Dart on foot and a mounted Sir John.

I don't count on ever owning Lord McDeath or Sandra or the giant, but I do own a fair amount of the rest - and those quixotic knights have always intrigued me.

Another chap that proves rather elusive is Jes Goodwins Ogre Bounty Hunter, wielding a broad broad broadsword.

That said, I can't really complain about the stuff I do own. I even get the feeling that a lot of them are finally taking paint.

Cheers!

Would this be a good time to point out that there is also an unreleased single-piece casting version of the Roborg? ;)
Thanks for the heads up Steve, didn't know such a thing existed. I'm not your kind of nutter though, I don't have to catch all the variants. I just want them to paint and game with, cause it's a fantastic looking piece of Olley robotry!

It's from Citadel's 'Oh Gods why did did we let Bob produce this?' range.
Boo! Hiss!

Good question...right now, I'd probably say Sir Brut, a late 80s citadel foot knight. There is one on eBay, but I'm not paying $25+shipping for a single man-sized miniature.

My two most sought after miniatures are the unreleased Dwarf on the pony (have bid on it many times and have many times been second highest) and the original unreleased Rogue Trader Tyranid.

I have been very lucky in my collecting and I enjoy the search, so I don't mind too much.

Right now my most sought after miniature is the Talisman 3rd Edition City of Adventure Expansion halfling:

Seems to be impossible to find, even though others from that range often show up on eBay.

My holy grail is the night goblin Netter team #2
Limited_Release_-_Goblin_Night_Goblin_Netters_Pair_2.jpg

They rarely pop up on ebay and, although I am willing to pay quite some bucks (just to put an end to this chase) there always seems to one person more mad than me.
Given my personal kind of disorder - I usually can only start projects once I have all the parts - all the clubbers and netters will have to remain in storage.
(Well, someone paid 170 pounds for an unreleased guardsman this week end. Actually I am happy I did not win that one with my two digit offer - after all, guardsmen come in units, platoons, companies...I would see no end of it)

Sorry for the threadomancy but I was trawling back through the forum and this thread made me ponder.......I bet I'll never own the Fantasy Tribes/Gnoll?Great Goblin "King's Chariot".

Go on ebay.....won for £15.

It's missing the yoke and banner but nothing that I can't scratch build! Now I'm just yearning for the boar riders, there's a guy that wants £15 for a single boar with no tail at the moment....

Cheer up, all you threadomancers!

After 30 years of hunting down Lord McDeath i finally got hold of him, even for a moderate sum (and less than the lady). And the knights! Well worth the wait. Now all that is missing from the complete set of Highland-Madness is 1 giant, 1 Sandra, 1 Klinty.

And the Ogre...

Congratulations KingKobra!
I have also gotten my holy grail miniatures since commenting on this thread.

Now if I could only find a reasonably priced RT space Minotaur . . .

Since my last post in this thread, I've managed (by parting with a silly amount of money) to get hold of one of my 3 Holy Grails minis:

The other 2 variants (different heads) haven't turned up yet, so the search goes on.

That is an amazing Orc! Certainly never seen that one before! Good hunting.

I still search vainly for one last Marauder Goblin Wolfrider...I would even be over joyed to see a picture of him in someone else's collection as proof that it even exists!

Here is a close up...and the catalog page. I have found copies of the other two figures from this blister...but only saw them once...so the whole pack seems to be rare...the one in the far right still completely elusive though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Blue

It would be well treated I promise!! (See below :) )

Sorry, not for sale. Happy to have a full set

I bought them via ebay uk, a set of 12 if I remember correct. His 2 companions were in it too. These three were the hardest to find.

I should really paint them, very nice miniatures
