Re: New halflings - Zombies added (20/2)

I feel a 14th (or is it 15th) army coming on. There do seem to be a lot of halflings out there, it would make a GREAT army. And these halflings of yours, they are basically the best!

Love the zombies and non-human skele's would be great too.

Re: New halflings - Zombies added (20/2)

First plan is to fit in the other non human zombies (dwarfs, goblins, humans, elves, maybe others). After that we can look at skellies perhaps.

A WIP sneak peek at things to come next for the halflings:

Re: New oldschool halflings - Halfling Piggyback Riders (05/

Juan Montaño completed work on the halfling special troops: the piggyback riders with mancatchers! I'm not making this up (well, technically, I did, but I'm sure you'll agree the concept just had to be done).

Full command group, with captain, standardbearer and musician:

A closer look at the command figures. The lower halflings generally tend to look a bit grumpy, guess they feel like they're carrying all the load here.

There are five unique trooper variants, each with separate head for the top halflings, allowing for more customization. The heads from the infantry sets should provide some more opportunity for individual looks:

Want them! They're so cool! A nice original concept. I can imagine them chasing rabbits with those mancatchers...

IN FACT... that's what I'm going to do. Get them for my townsfolk and have them as the Giant Ratcatchers. That's Giant Rat catchers, not Giant ratcatchers!

Re: New oldschool halflings - Halfling Cavalry Greens (30/05

After the more comical halfling piggyback riders, it was time to get some proper halfling cavalry that, if it won't strike fear in the hearts of the enemy, at least won't make them wet their pants laughing either.

This is the first set of them, light cavalry with spears. Mounted archers will follow, as well as heavy cavalry. While some halfling specific mounts are also being worked on, these rider figures will be fully compatible with the existing ponies from the dwarf range.

As with the rest of the plump halflings, these are sculpted by Juan Montaño. They still need some cleaning and tidying up, before we can call them 100% done, but I wanted to go ahead and share them.

There are 8 figures in all. 4 rank and file cavalry troopers and a full command set (4 figures): standardbearer with sword an onion standard, champion with sword and fork of command, musician with horn and tankard and a sergeant with spear.

The command will be single part figures, the rank and file will have interchangeable heads.

A couple more shots of the command figures:

That reminds me... it's time to go buy some halflings! :)

Re: New oldschool halflings - Halfling Cavalry Greens (13/12

Not so long ago, I've shown the rider models for the halfling light cavalry with spears. These will normally fit on the dwarven ponies for a traditional mount, but if you like something a bit more quirky and fluffy, here are the sculpts for the proper halfling mounts. The prototype model was sculpted by Brad Shier, with some conversions for the other poses by John Pickford:

For an idea of relative size of rider to rooster, here's an example of the original prototype sculpted by Brad Shier, painted by him, with an unreleased rider (also by Brad Shier) that is now also in The Assault Group's hands;

I don´t exactly know what I need them for, but I want to have some

Cool stuff, once again.

Exactly my thought here, I know I do not really want halflings but these are compelling...

Yes I do want some of those on ponies though not chickens. But given I always include a giant chicken wandering my empire army maybe I should invest in a giant rooster.
