Dark Elf "Monopose" Plastic Swordsmen

Yet another Dark Elf history query I have.

Does anyone know what year these miniatures were first made available?

Strangely, the most successful Google search results for this box-set always appear when I type in the year "1996" and yet I'm pretty sure the style of the miniature predates 1996.

In fact, similar to the other query I made about Dark Elf religion, these chaps all have the eight-pointed star of Chaos engraved on their breastplates, which seems like something you'd expect to see in earlier Dark Elf lore, rather than late 90s.

Then again, the Dark Elf army book wasn't released until 1995, so perhaps these chaps came out about the same time?

You're right -- I just found this:

The plastics themselves have "1994" on the sprue, but the year on the catalogue says 1995.
