Goblin green

Maybe a bit of a silly question, but does anyone know when goblins turned green?
I'm sure when I painted my first few back in around 85 I painted them a mustard yellow and I must of got that from somewhere being an impressionable 13

I would say somewhere between White Dwarf 62 (the first I bought new here in France) and White Dwarf 67, so it should be mid 85 or so...

I do remember that there was the army that Kev Adams presented at the Open Day painteing competition (before Golden Demon) with green goblins...

Definately ask Kev. I believe it is entirely his fault.

1984 Citadel Compendium - he's yellowish.

They're yellowish or orangish in AD&D.

Just checking Heroes for Wargames (1986) - there's some lovely olive green orcs, some bright green ones and some red ones.

I always imagined goblins as green, even in my earliest days of gaming (1984-85 or so) but I do like the idea of goblins being the same color as tomatoes with all of their variations (yellow, red, green, etc....)
