Accommodation near the event

Is there a hotel/inn that most people stay at during the event or is popular with the regulars? Thinking it would be quite good to stay near the venue but also enjoy a few pints in the evening with some like minded folks!

The Deincourt is popular, but we have been Air BNB'ing it the last couple of years, much cheaper. We tend to go out in Newark in the evening.
