The idea for this game has been kicking about for literally years, but this year it looks like it's actually going to happen. Rules are nearly settled, there's been a small test game and models are being painted.
Rival Mechanicus factions will meet in a trial-by-combat to decide whose interpretation of the STC is correct. Influenced by the board game Robo Rally, there will be conveyor belts, bottomless shafts, laser beams, enormous rotating saw blades, etc. etc. with a skirmish game taking place on top.
Each faction can capture consoles to take control of a section of the factory, or some of the 'house' robots, with the ultimate goal being to get control of the central console and upload your version of the STC.
I'm aiming for about 6 players with a faction of ten each. An options list will be published in due course, but if you are looking to get building, each faction will consist of something like:
- 1 Tech-priest leader
- 1 Robot
- 1 Specialist (space marine, heavy weapon, arco-flagellant etc)
- 2 Servitors - mainly to operate machinery, very limited combat ability
Don't worry about Oldhammer purity. Obviously classic tech-priests are welcome, but I'm planning a mish-mash of robed cultists, barbarians converted to servitors with cyborg bits, Ramshackle Games's robed gangers, new GW Skitarii, 2nd edition Warzone plastics, etc. etc. Let your imagination go. Even better if you can give them a specific theme or unusual colour scheme.
