Rough Afternoon at The Old Griffin - WFRP in Heldenhofen

I did say I'd run some WFRPS on the Heldenhofen table, so here we are.

Gather at the sign of the Griffin in the docks district at 1pm on Saturday for an afternoon of low adventure!

"Follow the sign of the Griffin and you will reach one of the oldest drinking establishments in the city, the Old Griffin. Located in the docks area, the Old Griffin was originally a coffee house where ship captains and trade factors would meet – the purple colour of the crudely scrawled Griffin sign is a throwback to these days when purple dye from the murex shell indicated a sea trading establishment. The original building burnt down in The Great Fire and was rebuilt in half timber. Nowadays the Old Griffin is a tavern serving the various underclasses of the Heldenhofen dock community. A hive of scum and villainy.

Around a century ago the Green Griffin opened its doors in town and ever since the Griffin became known as the Old Griffin. An ongoing rivalry exists between the two taverns, which often results in drink-fuelled pranks and other escapades, and Bier Bowl contests between the two teams are particularly brutal to watch."

I will be running it much like my Backswords & Bucklers game - so your characters will be dropped into the Old Griffin where they can follow rumours and pick up jobs from the various characters that inhabit (infest?) the tavern. I run a very free-form, player led game so your characters will be free to follow anything they feel like.

As for character creation, feel free to create them on your own if you want. I'll allow you to choose career to match a particular figure you want to use. Not too many trollslayers though please, and bear in mind the tone of the game - thieves, smugglers and struggling poets will be more appropriate than wizards and priests. If you don't have a copy of the book and want to play anyway find me before hand and I'll help you create one. Any of the Old Griffin characters can serve as player characters as well if you are stuck. Finally, any Gold rolled for during character creation should be shillings instead; if you're already rich then you have no reason to visit the Old Griffin! You will probably need to supply your own character figure.

Open the spoiler for outlines of the existing characters.

Well if I'm not already overcommitted with other Heldenhofen adventures, this sounds great and I'll be sure to have suitable models with me for a character. Will you be around on the Friday to chat about character generation (as I don't have a book).

Yep, I'll be around to help you generate a character. I'll be bringing plenty of spare character sheets. I'll probably be mostly hanging around the Heldenhofen table helping to set it up, haven't really got any other plans for friday.
