Anyone used magnifying visors for painting?

I have an Optivisor which I've tried maybe twice. Feels too weird, and I didn't even want to get used to it. Some mates are getting great results from them though...

Actually mentioned this question to ones optician, when last in and his remark was simple, 'do not wear them' as they affect long term depth perception and can cause eye sight to get worse. Do get better lighting especially if you are noticing headaches after painting, use a daylight bulb.

If you need or find yourself needing magnification check optician and take a minute with you, then if they say need glasses hold up mini, close as if to paint and see if you will need reading glasses for close work as they can gear them for what you're doing. (A cheap NHS pair or equivalent is a good choice as less expense with repeated on off on a painting, modeling desk.)

Occasional use like one on a stand fine, but repeated use will see you needing glasses a lot sooner apparently.
