Old Style Goblin Shields

Have had a go at recreating some of the old eighties style 'face' designs on goblin shields since I had some old eighties Citadel goblins to paint up and they had those horrible, blank plastic shields (always seemed like lazy sculpting to me, making the painter finish the job!). In the end I was quite pleased with the results - fairly simple, in accordance with my limited free painting skill, but seem to capture the spirit I was after... and a damn sight better than just leaving them blank, or cutting off the 'nub' the shield attaches to (which was my usual option back in the day).

And in a more natural pose, protecting a goblin standard bearer...

I love the standard bearer and the fellow with the Ambrose Burnside muttonchop 'stache particularly. Good paint all around, and creative shields.
