Thanks for the comments guys, I see him as the local bar / stable keeper quietly getting on with the job in hand, but more than able to put the rowdiest client in their place if required!

Cheers Zhu. He's a Gaspez Arts Blood Bowl dark elf apothecary. Fits the bill quite well I think and good excuse to dig him out of the lead pile for some paint!

Great job Paul, I really love how his face is nice and quiet when his lower half is that of a freaky monster. This challenge never fails to impress me !

I painted up little Oswald.
Ma Khorne is still on the table. Had to go a second round with trying to fix some ugly mold lines/slippage. Started putting some paint on her, though.
This project has really got me inspired -- both working on my own contribution and seeing what else is being done so far by other forum members. I am really tempted to just start working on my own chaos village alongside my other project(s).
I painted up little Oswald.

After careful consideration I have selected for my entry: a boy and his (faithful and bloodthirsty two-headed) dog.
The boy will need a minor conversion. Perhaps a tail, tentacle, or daddy's borrowed helmet. The hound should be fine as is with the extra head.
Now then, off to the paint station...in a few months.
Edit: Photobucket pooped the bed, attached the photo directly instead.

I've finished Ma, so here she is, caught up to little Oswald before he could get into trouble. Or maybe just guide him into the proper sort of trouble, at any rate.
My old chaos figures are/were mostly generic chaos figures, or Nurgle & Slaanesh once the RoC books came out. Khorne always seemed a bit dull to me, both in terms of painting and background. But I'm amused at the idea of devout Khorne followers trying to take part in village life. Unaligned mutants and followers of the other three major chaos powers, sure. But Khorne?
With that, I'm more or less ready to ship. All I need is the destination info.
