In fact, just as I was typing that I decided I'd prefer the steppe ranger! So it's pretty open...

I know it's not strictly steppes but you could be a Kislev Horse Archer sans horse - he could have a hobby horse instead................... his real horse could of been nicked and you're on a quest to find him

I'm toying with being a Wizard. Erny and I had an idea to do some WFRP a while back and make my character a Grey Wizard as they're kinda Jedi like, sort of a young Gandalf. If he's starting off as a level 5 Wizard I'm thinking I'd need to find a newbie looking wizard mini, like a newly ordained former apprentice.

I know colour magic doesn't really exist in 3rd but I could always put a Grey/Shadow Wizard spin on his spells - Shadows creep out and snap a leg, grey fireballs, flight could be a like a grey steed spell etc........................

Oooooooooooo, found one! OK, he's plastic but I think we works, beard isn't too long so can be considered quite young (hopefully).

He's also plastic but don't hold that against me.......................

Still pondering on character type...

From reviewing the thread I think we have

Strong guy
Thief/rogue
Magic user

and a possible Steppe Ranger

Looking through my old lead I have figures suitable for Fighter, Thief, Assasin, Rogue, Magic User but they are all covered.
I have a couple of Dwarfs that I fancy painting but not sure that they'll bring anything to the party and the only clerics I have are of an Evil persausion.

I'll give it a little more thought.

I'm at my mother-in-law's in Wales at the moment, but when I get back (Wed/Thurs) I'll jump up in the loft and see what I can bring to the table.

You can never have too many fighters!

A dwarf would bring good skills as well as a strong fighting arm, give him a crossbow and he becomes even more useful. Or maybe a slayer that would be immune to fear could be useful!

That's my character done. I might even enter him into Chico's challenge if I can convince him that I just started early.....

He's a very young adventuring Bret. Maybe a 3rd or 4th son out to prove himself as he's never gonna inherit the estates!

Oh my word, loving your work there!

A very handy strong arm for my inquisitive Wizard to have a friend.

Whilst I don't see my Wizard as the leader of our merry band I do see him as the instigator of a lot of their dungeon delving, probably telling your lad there is renown and gold to be earned a plenty!

Gold, eh? Then Adelmo Ladro, cutpurse extraordinaire, may well be interested in coming along for the, um, gold.

My lad if gold is what you are after then the order of Ulgu can make use of your particular skill set for the greater good, just don't nick my staff....................

Very nice paint job, my pallet will be quite similar, I can see us becoming quite close comrades with my character willing to overlook your less than desirable ways if it gets the job done.

Looking good chaps. I'm currently cobbling together some guidelines for running this sort of thing with the BOB I'll post them up when done.

I can't place the Bret mini WP do let on where its from and I guess he needs a name.

He's a converted Black Tree Designs HYW knight. Head chopped off and replaced with one of the heads from the empire archer sprue with it's cap shaved off and some greenstuffed hair.

Looking good WP and Rab!

I want to get home and look in the loft, now! I'm hoping I can find an elf with a bow (I know I used to have a nice one, just hope it's still there and I can find it).

An Elf being added to the party huh?

That's handy, we certainly need more missile fire.

Which flavour? Tree hugging, seadog or proper haughty?

Can't remember. Need to get home and up in the loft. (Damn it! I hate not being at home when I want to look for something!)

Ok, I reckon from the sound of what people are bringing, the Steppe Ranger is the best option in terms of what I should bring; we already have someone who can take care of traps, right? (So the gnome would not be required)

haha no, in a free world I would either go for that or the gnome as they're both figures I want to paint. Myself, I'd just decide based on the toss of the coin, but if one would be more useful than the other for the team (e.g. a bow would be more useful than someone being able to disarm traps), I'll do that.

The choice is entirely yours, a religious type would be something we're lacking BUT we're also short on missile fire.

I've decided my character will be called Lothar der Schattenweber.

I was going to try for something funny but then realised Schatten was funny enough.

(sorry to all German speaking nations for my puerile amusement at a word which has a tenuous link to sounding vagely funny in English...........)
