Oldhammer Day - Parking at Foundry Miniatures

Couldn't see a post for this yet. For those driving to Nottingham (or from their hotels to Foundry) where is everyone intending to park when they get there? I read on a random Foundry news post for one of their old events that parking on the street is not a good idea.

Checking google streetview, there appears to be a carpark in a shopping centre at the corner of Union street (behind Foundry):

It's called "Huntingdon Street Public Car park", it is secure, but it does seem rather expensive (especially on a saturday!).

Anybody know any better places to park for the day?

Given the parking restrictions and how much stuff I'm likely to be carrying - can we drop-off and pick stuff up outside the facilities? If so, what time do the doors open & close?
This maybe a deal breaker!

There's also this place I've found:

Just as close as the other carpark, but only £4.50 for the day.

The only catch is that it closes at 7pm. Meaning there's NO ACCESS after 7pm to get your car out. So any of us thinking of parking there would have to leave the event by about 6:30ish, or risk not getting home!

Given the extortionate prices of the Huntingdon street carpark though, it seems to be the only option. :/

Hi all

Just a post for event organisers (who I've contacted separately regarding parking) - I've been advised by Marcus that it is much much easier to load things form the parking bays out front than from their parking lot.

So, please park out front first, unload, and then relocate to the lot.

Note - if you haven't received any communication from me regarding parking, then I'm not talking about you! Everyone else will have to arrange parking as suggested on this thread.

(Cheeky comment alert ...) So GMs (with loads of stuff to carry) are not event organisers? Or (realistic comment ...) is the parking lot just too small for GMs also?
