Fort terrain for my Tilean Campaign

First buy a cheap wooden box from a high street store ...
Image

Take off the lid, turn it around, score in stone outlines with a scalpel, and cut some gaps in the parapet wall ...
Image

Then used foam card to shape the surrounding earthworks ...
Image

Then cover in cheap pound store plasticine which was left over from a 'make your own monster' game you created for your little boy's 4th birthday, and cover in a layer of PVA glue ...
Image
(Warning, as a consequence of the cheapness of these materials, the final piece will be strangely, but satisfyingly soft. Proper plasticine would harden more over time.)

Then paint with cheap store Acrylic and scatter some dried sand on, then stick some sticks in (to look like the stake-line the earth was piled up around) ...
Image

Then prime the box-fort with gesso to create texture, and wash with a mix of cheap paint, then dab with a tissue to lighten parts, and also add some glued flock to the earthworks, then place the fort in the middle and stick a cannon on top ...
Image

Then look across the table and ensure that the men below the tower have hard cover ...

Re: Fort terrain for my Tilean Campaign

Brilliant! I bought a similar thing with a more floral/natural pattern for my wood elves but never made it :)
