Chaos grav-attack

Turns out Suber was right and I ended placing them in a random sort of way :

I also adde dsome weird textures with drops of superglue over drops of PVA glue, there is a wide range of textures which can be achieved with this method :

Now I've found the propeller on the sides, I just have to glue them and blend them with some ugly organic textures and we'll be good !

Thanks guys, I'm actually looking forward to finishing the modelling part and get on with the paintjob.

I wasthinking of apinting him all black blending with more organic pinkish tones near the lips and eye but I also want to draw some twisted mutated markings too just to show the remnants of the previous paintjob (before it putated into a gigantic flying racecar fish). i'll probably write some things with a cyberpunk font or something of the sort (no neon lights under the car though...)

Im looking forward to that too. The design does look exactly like the RoC aesthetic applied to the RT grav-attack, which must be satisfying.

Reminds me of Audrey

Thats picture isnt "Audrey", its "Audrey 2". "Audrey" is a human woman that the plant is named after.

Now that's the comment I was waiting for without daring to aknowledge it ! \o/

I would like the paintjob to reflect that as well (much tougher task...)

good work. I like the brutal functional look. If I knew a way to make those exhausts belch smoke and flame I would tell you. I think thats the one thing that could improve it. Thats the second Chaos Machine I might be up against. I fear my car will be too small a nd out classed.

While your Grav tank is rather cool.. I couldn't help look around the rest of ya painting desk to see what goodies are on display :)

You're absolutely right Niibl, fire and smoke from the exhausts would greatly improve this all but right now, I have no idea how to do that...

If you can wire it -

yellow LEDs that fit in the tube with wires going down to a coin battery and housing on the inside or underside. To be tricky to hook up the housing to a switch.

On the pipe/LED end, pop a bit of pulled cotton wool over and give it a tiny black spray hit.

A lot of very fiddly work, but would look very cool.
Aslo, test out all your wiring and connections before incorporating into the model.

There won't be led in the final product I'm afraid but I do want to use the idea for something else in the future.

The end result is not up to my expectations ut I don't feel like doing much more with it so I'll have to consider this one done.

It is a most excellent conversion. Over the years I've done a few deoderant conversions, mostly for D6 Star Wars with 15mm figures. Here was the description of one ...

Huge and grey, it was very obviously a dedicated combat craft, with the just visible shimmer of energy shielding in front of its solid, plated hull. It sported two blaster turrets, one upon its nose (which could see both the maze surface and into the canyon) and one on its belly aiming right down into the depths. It was like nothing Blitz had seen before, and he had seen a lot of combat models in his mercenary career. Clearly specialised for maze warfare, it would surely look ridiculous in any other terrain. Here, however, it was terrifying, like a giant predator very much at home in its ecological niche. '

The reality is a very basic, unweathered model. I was churning models out for our RP sessions and simply wanted things that showed shape, scale etc. No time to go into all the delicious detail you went into on yours.

MYEDROLARIAN ARMOURED MAZE SKIMMER
Craft: Heavily Modified Mirdall-Jin Security Plus
Type: Armoured Security Carrier

The vehicle has long extendable legs that allow it to land even with a belly turret, and also to allow the crew to access the maze surface even though the feet are on the maze bottom. These telescopically retract when in flight. Specialised for Myedrolarian maze warfare, this vehicle has a protective upper dome-shaped energy shield to protect it from attack from the maze top whilst it is concentrating on maze-bottom fighting. More normal escorts would fly as surface guards while this was flushing out the maze fissures.

Quite a few of my freighters' laser turrets were made out of roll-on deoderant balls.

Found another ANCIENT picture (or scan of a picture) from the early 1990s. Another ship made from a bottle - this time a Lynx shower gel bottle. The model is a very basic kit-bash / scratch-build.

Deck plan:

(I realise the floor-recessed sleep booths have not come out in the scan - there are four, in the crew/passenger lounge area.)

And here is the awful picture of the ship flying through space!
