Re: A new member to the group

I was a bit restrained in my purchases at BOYL2015, as I'd left a couple of bids on items on ebay for stuff I'd been waiting to get my hands on for sometime to complete collection of stuff; well, two of them were on Red Redemptionists as I wanted another ten troopers to complete the regiment, I only needed to win one - well needless to say, I won both! which means I've enough to complete a second regiment. for which I'm not too upset about given the chat about a really big game next year. :D

anyway here are the pictures of of the completed unit and the unit soon to be WIP, have now posted better ones, now the world has turned.

Thank you, As for base sizes - these are on 20x20, but I know that quite a lot of people have them on 25x25 and use them as Thugs, I don't have a problem either way.

I've painted up the first figure of the second chapter of my monks using the same colour scheme - Blue, green & red, just alternated the green & blue, so that there's consistency between the two, but a discernible difference as well - hope you like it, as the first 16 are on the painting table & should be done by Sunday. :D

As ever the pictures do no service - apart from giving a hint of the work involved

Re: A new member to the group

Long time since I posted here, but I wasn't sure were to place this post and it appeared a reasonable place to tell you that I've just bought myself a Dwarf Army! I wasn't looking for something new, especially as I'd sold my original dwarfs twenty years ago, but the asking price was too good to pass, especially when it included postage. The painting appears to be nothing to write home about from the pictures, but as Nico 'the Great' once advised me - buy something painted and then make it your own 8-) , items posted and should be here by Friday, here's hoping. :)

I'll let you know how I get on in due course.

They have loads of potential Paul, I think they will look great once you have worked your magic on them. Also if you ever want to expand the super cheap plastic Fantasy warriors dwarves woudl fit in nicely http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/Copy_of_Fantasy.html or obviously the old grenadier sculpts now sold by a number of places.

Thanks for that Erny, I'll keep them in mind. Parcel arrived early today am currently assessing the breakages and the paint work - have currently 'lost' 24 figures but most of them are on multiple bases with a single figure missing so all told maybe a dozen figures in need of a little TLC, the painting is basic, but it's what I expected, so no disappointment at all.

As ever I'm never sure where to post season's greeting to you all, so return to my usual place of necessity.

Resolution for the coming year - buy less stuff  , paint more stuff ;) , play more games :D & read more books  .

Enjoy

Re: A new member to the group

Been I while since I've taken these little ladies out of the box, which is a bit of a shame really as if I recall correctly they won their category at Colours back in 2009, as for playing games - I used them as militia for my Sisters of battle army ( my daughters wanted an all girl army!).

Over the last few years I've been concentrating on fantasy, but after seeing Ramshackle's efforts at BOYL this year - I thought it was time to try and see what I could find in my attic:D

Hope you like them, which will encourage me to see what I else might find
