Back into Warhammer /40k after a 22year break...

Hi Guys.

I've recently got back into minis (mainly painting and converting), but hope to get into the gaming side of things as time goes on. I'm currently reliving my childhood as a 35yr old bloke with more money and technical skills than I had when I was in my childhood. The first project was to build a formidible gaming set for first edition Space Hulk.. The climax being the gold standard figure for this game:- Enthoned Patriarch, supplied by Ye_Alchemist on ebay. I painted it with modern citadel paints and then applied an empoxy lacquer to protect the paint when being used in gaming.

Looking forward to conversing with fellow white metal enthusiasts and I hope to travel up from Somerset to BOYL 2019 this year! Rich

Yes, I'm in a similar situation as you, returning after so many years.
I've always had a fondness for that patriarch model. You've painted it really well.
Great job! :D

Thanks very much for the compliments. I always wanted the patriarch on a throne but I believe it had been discontinued even by the time I originally started my warhammer journey decades ago. Found a good example, stripped it and gave it a lot of love. The sculp deserves a good paint job for sure.

^That really is a great way to start off. Whip out a fig that so many of us covet, and in nice paint to boot! ;-)

Welcome!
