Hello from Chester in the NW

Hello, thanks for adding me!

New to the forum but not new to Warhammer. I played in the 1980s and 1990s and have been bitten by the bug again. I started back in my local GW store, but my interest has shifted back to classic minis and what is now Oldhammer.

Im interested in the nostalgia and collecting and painting up my new project of a classic Dwarf army, inspired by my memories of Paul Robbin's Golden Demon winning army from back in the day.. . Watch this space.

I would like to test the army back on the battle field if there are any gamers nearby, or a short (ish) drive away. Failing that, I'll head to bring out your lead..

Cheers

Richard

Re: Hello from Chester in the NW

I'm living waaaay up in Orkney at the moment, but my family hail from Liverpool so I'm regularly back there and would love to meet up for a game when I'm next back. There's also VanLoon on the Wirral.

Right at the start of July, Deeside defenders have a show in Broughton (Gauntlet), and a couple of times people have got together for an oldhammer game at that.
This was our 2014 Gauntlet game: http://warlordpauluk.blogspot.co.uk/201 ... eevas.html
And this was our 2016 Gauntlet game: http://wheretheseapoursout.blogspot.co. ... rheal.html
Would be great to have another in 2018!

(Looks like you have a good taste in music, btw)

Gauntlet sounds interesting. I could combine it with a visit to see my dad who lives in Chester!

BTW, welcome here Richard.

Would be great to do something again for Gauntlet, also would be great to play another game with you Padre. I think there's a very good chance I'll be around for it, I'll post something on the board once the Deeside Defenders formally announce the date.

Hi,

As lenihan mentioned, I live on the Wirral, so just a short drive from Chester.

I'd be up for organising a game of some description if you fancy it. Let me know and we'll work something out.

Quick question to the OP, did you game in the Chester store back in the late 80's early 90's? I only ask because I was a regular in the store back then.

it was the period of Dave (i think) being the manager and was is Leon? Little guy with blonde ish hair and glasses?

Dave the manager was an amazing painter. really helped me a lot :)
